The head of the Laboratory of Soil Microbiology of the Institute of Microbiology Samira Najafova and an employee of the same laboratory, Ph.D. in Biology Aygun Gasimova, have participated in the international online scientific-practical conference entitled "Strategic regional projects and ecological, economic and social development of regions", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Department of Interdisciplinary Ecological -Economic Systematic Research of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

During the conference, Samira Najafova delivered a lecture on “Bioecocluster complexes based on resource-saving, waste-free and environmentally friendly technologies for solving environmental problems in the Absheron industrial region”. She spoke about the importance of integrated production systems - bio clusters - for solving environmental and socio-economic problems of Azerbaijan through the use of biotechnologies based on microbiological, biochemical, and technological processes, and responded to questions on the topic.

Note that the article co-authored with Nariman Ismayilov, Samira Najafova, and Aygun Gasimova has been included in the collection of conference materials, and its electronic version is posted on the official website of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

The online event featured presentations by scientists from Russia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, as well as demonstrated the results of their research.
