The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan has established a working group to conduct biological monitoring of the Okhchuchay River, passing through the liberated Zangilan region. This group includes representatives from various organizations, including four relevant institutes of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

The coordinator of the representatives involved in the working group from ANAS is the director general of the Institute of Microbiology, corresponding member of ANAS Panah Muradov.

According to the plan, the members of the Working Group met today at the Central Laboratory of Azersu OJSC. During the meeting, the head of the Central Laboratory Elchin Aliyev informed the members of the working group about the capabilities of the laboratories and their activities, and acquainted them with the laboratories.

The meeting also discussed the action plan of the working group and adopted a preliminary version, taking into account the proposals.

Under the action plan, the working group is keen to organize expeditions in Okhchuchay from April to take samples and conduct observations and analyzes.

In the second part of the day, a representative of the working group visited the Azeklab Laboratory of the Ministry of Ecology to get familiar with the conditions there.
