The General meeting of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS continued with the reports of 4 institutes.
The meeting brought together the members of the Department, heads of institutes, leading scientists, representatives of universities.
Academician Irada Huseynova, Vice-President of ANAS, after touching on the reforms carried out in the direction of the development of Azerbaijani science, said that reports on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of 4 institutes in 2022 will be heard at the current meeting.
The scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the institutes of Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies for 2022, the achieved achievements, the tasks arising from the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers and the tasks according to the State programs were presented in the reports that were heard. They provided detailed information about implementation, personnel training, publishing activities, participation in grant projects and programs, application issues, as well as existing problems and prospective plans. It was noted that fundamental research works in the scientific directions of the Department were further deepened in the institutes, important fundamental and applied achievements were published in high-impact journals, monographs and books indexed in prestigious international scientific databases such as "Web of Science", "Scopus", published in book chapters.
The report of the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was presented by the General Director of the institute, Doctor of biological sciences, Professor Sayyare Ibadullayeva.
In the report, the state of study of the flora of Azerbaijan, rare and endangered plant diversity, relevant databases, activities related to the 3rd edition of the "Red Book" of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and internal and international cooperation in the relevant fields took a large place. Professor Sayyare Ibadullayeva said that in the reporting year, the main focus was on activities related to the 3rd edition of the "Red Book" and that 57 expeditions and up to 40 business trips were carried out by the employees of the institute related to this issue, as well as topic plans...
