In the city of Fuzuli, a meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Issues was held under the Interdepartmental Center of the Coordinating Headquarters established for the centralized solution of issues in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

The meeting brought together the representatives of the relevant state institutions represented in the working group and the special representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Gubadli, Jabrayil and Zangilan districts included in the Eastern Zangezur economic region, the special representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories included in the Karabakh economic region (except Shusha region), Shusha city State Conservation Department, Karabakh Economic Region Rehabilitation, Construction and Management Service, Eastern Zangezur Economic Region No. 1 Rehabilitation, Construction and Management Service.

Vice-president of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova, as well as corresponding member of ANAS Panah Muradov and Professor Elman Isgandar attended the meeting.

The head of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov informed about the work done on the measures in which the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources is the executor of the action plan, approved by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated November 16, 2022, "The 1st State Program on the Great Return to the Territories Freed from Occupation of the Republic of Azerbaijan".

Then, the members of the working group were informed about demining activities carried out on environmental assessment, measures to prevent fire incidents in these areas, in the field of tourism infrastructure creation, as well as monitoring and inspection of mineral resources and underground water in the territory of Fuzuli region, repairs and restoration of Kondalanchay water reservoirs and discussions were held around these topics.

Before the meeting, event participants and media representatives planted 100 Eldar pine trees near Fuzuli International Airport.
