On February 26, a memorial event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy was held at the Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education.

The participants of the event first commemorated the victims of the Khojaly genocide with a minute of silence.

At the event, Ayten Bayramova, the chairman of the Institute's Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, delivered a report on the Khojaly genocide. She stressed out that, at night of February 25-26, 1992, Armenian armed groups attacked the unarmed and unaided Khojaly city with the help of the 366th motorized rifle military regiment stationed in the city of Khankendi of the former USSR. As a result of the brutality of the criminal Armenian troops, 613 people from Khojaly were killed, 1275 civilians were taken hostage, and the fate of 150 people is still unknown.

Then the member of the council, Susan Abdullayeva, emphasized the need to convey the truth about Khojaly to the wider public so that the horrors of the Khojaly genocide would not be forgotten and similar tragedies would not occur in the future, and noted that the youth had a special responsibility in this activity.

At the end of the event, a video about the Khojaly tragedy was shown.
