On May 20, ANAS launched an online conference dubbed "Biodiversity, soil and water resources of Karabakh: past, present, and future."

After the official opening ceremony and plenary session, the conference continued its work in the framework of parallel sections - "The fauna of Karabakh, gerontological research, and ecotourism" moderated by the Director of the Institute of Physiology Ulduz Hashimova and Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Konul Bakhshaliyeva, as well as "Soil and water resources and the green economy of Karabakh" moderated by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Dilzar Agayeva and Ph.D. in Biology, Associate Professor.

At the plenary session of the first section have listened to the lecture of the corresponding member of ANAS Rafig Gasimov on "Prospects for the study of biodiversity in the water basins of the Karabakh region", corresponding member of ANAS  Panah Muradov on “Future research directions of mycobiota of the liberated territories", Prof. Ulduz Hashimova on "Gerontological Studies in Karabakh: Current Status and Prospects for Development", Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Dilzar Agayeva on "Micromycetic Diversity of Karabakh in Herbariums" and others.

At the plenary session of the second section with lectures of Academician Garib Mammadov on the topic "Liberated lands of Azerbaijan: problems, restoration, effective use, and cartography on the basis of GIS", corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev on "Prospects for research, restoration and use of Karabakh kahrizs", corresponding member of ANAS Amin Ismayilov on "Scientific analysis of the usefulness of liberated lands for the cultivation of agricultural crops using GIS and satellite technologies", as well as Dr. Biology Elimkhan Jafarov and Ph.D. physics-math Famil Humbatov. 

The lectures and speeches tell about the scientific research that should be carried out to study the various problems in the territory of Karabakh, liberated in the results of the Patriotic War, the monitoring of the assessment of the ecological assessment of the environment.

Noted that on the last day of the conference, a plenary session and breakout sessions on "Natural flora, vegetation, forests and pastoral ecosystems of Karabakh" were moderated by prof. Elman Isgandar, Ph.D. in Biology Samira Baghirova and "Genetic Resources of Karabakh and Food Security" by Ph.D. in Biology, Associate Professor Alamdar Mammadov and Ph.D. in Biology, Associate Professor Mehraj Abbasov.
