Institute of Microbiology of ANAS hosted an online event dedicated to September 27 - Memorial Day.
In advance, the memory of the brave sons of the motherland, who perished heroically for the territorial integrity of our country, was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Opening the event, Director General of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Panah Muradov said that the historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War was achieved primarily due to the great courage of the heroic soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Triumphant Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Muradov stressed that this historic victory of Azerbaijan was achieved due to the coincidence of the will of the people, the strength of the army and the will of the leader. According to him, the leader, the army and the people's union said their word with victory.
The scientist said that during the Patriotic War, our country received the strongest support from both Turkey and Pakistan at the state and national levels. He said that the memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our lands from Armenian occupation is always held in high esteem by our people.
The head of the laboratory of the Institute of Microbiology, Dr. Associate Professor Konul Bakhshaliyeva spoke about her feelings during her scientific research in Shusha a few days ago: “Liberating Shusha from occupation required great heroism, courage and self-sacrifice. We felt it more the moment we saw those steep rocks. Our heroic soldiers climbed these steep rocks and liberated Shusha from the invaders in a hand-to-hand battle. The earth attracts people. We are always indebted to those who brought us to that land. The heroic sons returned the owners of the land to them. "
Chairman of the Trade Union, Head of the Laboratory of Aquatic Microbiology, Ph.D., Associate Professor Anar Huseynov thanked the heroes who gave this victory to our people, and said that our heroes, who rose to the peak of martyrdom, gained immortality.
Concluding his speech, Panah Muradov drew attention to the role of science and scientists in the restoration of Karabakh and noted that we will always remember the martyrs who liberated the homeland and sacrificed their lives, their heroism, and bow before their souls.
