On July 7, a meeting of the members of the Presidium of ANAS with the heads of scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy was held in the Central Scientific Library in the "Open Microphone" format.
Academician Arif Hashimov, Acting President of ANAS, who opened the event with an introductory speech, brought to the attention that this meeting was not organized in an official format, but in order to discuss the results of scientific, scientific and organizational activities, including the tasks facing science, as well as discussion existing problems of scientific institutions and organizations, determine the direction of future activities and conduct sincere discussions.
Noting that the Academy has historically played an active role in the socio-political and economic life of Azerbaijan, academician Arif Hashimov said that important research is being carried out at ANAS today in accordance with the directions of the country's socio-economic development and the challenges of the modern world.
Academician Arif Hashimov spoke about the work done by scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS in connection with the announcement of 2022 as the "Year of Shusha" on the basis of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and drew attention to the need to implement a number of important tasks in this direction by the end of the year.
Academician A. Hashimov recalled that on April 27 of this year, the General Meeting of ANAS was held, at which a draft resolution was adopted, reflecting the further plan of the Academy's activities. According to him, all the steps taken are aimed at ensuring the dynamism of the development of the academy and domestic science in general.
Further at the event, issues of strengthening the material and technical base of the Academy, equipping laboratories with modern devices, and purchasing equipment abroad were discussed.
In conclusion, Academician Arif Hashimov expressed his attitude to the proposals and concluded the meeting with congratulations to the participants of the event on the upcoming Kurban holiday.
