The staff of the Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the grave of the outstanding scientist of Azerbaijan, Academician Maharram Mammadyarov on the occasion of his birthday, and visited the II Honorary Alley and paid tribute to his memory.

Employees of the institute laid flowers in front of the grave of the scientist who  contributed to the development of the science of Microbiology in Azerbaijan.

At the memorial ceremony, Panah Muradov, the student of the outstanding scientist, Director General of the Institute of Microbiology, corresponding member of ANAS, spoke about the life path of the great scientist, his rich and valuable scientific activity. He said that Maharram Mammadyarov had invaluable services in the development of the Institute of Microbiology. A large part of the scientist's scientific activity, for a certain period, is related to the Institute of Microbiology. Thus, the scientist headed the Institute of Microbiology from 1981 to 2002. It is the result of his tireless work that an institution operating as the Microbiology sector of ANAS until 1994 received the status of an institute. He emphasized his special role in conducting microbiology research in new and modern directions during the period when the scientist headed the institute, and in achieving the development of directions arising from the integration of microbiology with other sciences.

In addition to the rich scientific heritage left by the scientist, P. Muradov spoke about his services in the training of scientific training and noted that the loss of Maharram Mammadyarov is a great loss for Azerbaijani science as a whole.
