The potatoes purchased from the consumer market were submitted to the Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education for analysis to determine whether they are edible or not.
Agil Ahmadli, a junior researcher and full-time doctoral student of the Microbiological Biotechnology laboratory of the institution, said that the microbiological analyzes on the potatoes submitted to the laboratory will be continued in several stages.
He said that in the first sample, pH, dryness and moisture will be determined in the potato. In the next stage, the phytotoxic properties of the endophytic fungi in the potato extract will be investigated.
