The report on the results of the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Microbiology Institute of the Ministry of Science and Education in 2023 was listened at the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS.
At the event, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova, brought to attention the agenda of the meeting.
General Director of the Institute of Microbiology, corresponding member of ANAS, prof. Panah Muradov presented the report on the results of the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the institute in 2023, informed about the work done in connection with the implementation of the relevant decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and state programs in the current year.
It was brought to attention that in 2023, two important results were achieved as a result of the research work carried out by a total of 80 employees in 6 laboratories of the institute, including 1 academician, 1 corresponding member of ANAS, 8 doctors of sciences, 19 doctors of philosophy and other employees. In accordance with this year's subject plan, 2 problems and 7 topics were studied for a total of 7 cases and 19 stages. In the reporting year, studies on 7 works and 19 stages were completed, and the planned works were carried out in full. Researches on the topics performed during the reporting period were devoted to the assessment of the micro and mycobiota of water, soil and forest ecosystems in different areas of Azerbaijan, including those freed from occupation, in various aspects.
The director noted that in the reporting year, 79 scientific works of the institute's employees, including 1 monograph, 27 articles (24 of them abroad, 17 of them in international indexed databases and impact factor journals), 51 theses (15 abroad) were published. 107 references were made to the scientific works of the collaborators.
This year, the III Republic competition "Microorganisms through children's eyes" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held under the organization of the Institute of Microbiology. Employees participated in international and local conferences and received numerous certificates.
P. Muradov talked about the international relations of the institute and pointed out that the employees actively participate in various grant competitions.
Discussions were held around the report. The scientific and scientific-organizational activity of the Institute of Microbiology in the reporting year was evaluated as satisfactory.
Speaking at the end, Academician Irada Huseynova emphasized the importance of further expanding the relations of microbiological scientists and specialists in the country and gave instructions and recommendations on a number of issues.
