On June 11, at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS, jointly organized by the Institute of Zoology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Representative Office of the World Conservation Fund, an international scientific and practical conference was held on the topic “Disturbances in the functioning of ecosystems due to global climate change and ways to eliminate them.”

Before the opening, an exhibition of books and animal exhibits was examined. Later, the event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Along with our scientists, foreign guests took part in the conference via the Zoom platform - Professor of the Faculty of Aquatic Products of the Euphrates University of Turkey, Doctor of Biological Sciences. Naim Saglam, Director of the Institute of Zoology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikita Chernetsov, Professor of the V.N. Karazin Kharkov National University of Ukraine Doctor of Biological Sciences Sergey Utevsky.

 Then, Director General of the Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS Panah Muradov, head of the laboratory “Biologically active substances” Prof. Elman Iskander and head of the laboratory “Microbiological Biotechnology”, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Prof. Konul Bakhshalieva attended the conference as well. 

Microbiologist P. Muradov, who spoke at the opening, spoke about the importance of the international conference and the main goal of the conference - disruption of the functioning of ecosystems due to global climate change and ways to eliminate them, touched on the tasks facing scientists in solving this problem and noted the effectiveness of joint activities. The scientist wished the conference participants success and wished fruitful proposals and discussions within the conference.
