The Scientific Council of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences (DBMS) of ANAS was held.
Opening the event, Vice-President of ANAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council, Academician Irada Huseynova made familiar the participants with the issues of agenda.
In advance, academician Irada Huseynova spoke about the increasingly purposeful nature of the recent reforms at ANAS, the steps taken to optimize the structure of scientific research institutions and the work planned in this area.
Academician Garib Mammadov, corresponding members of ANAS Tofig Mammadov, Zeynal Akparov, Doctor of Biological Sciences Ulduz Hashimova and others vocied their suggestions.
Academician Irada Huseynova has instructed to prepare and discuss the projects of the institute structures in accordance with their mandates and the specifics of research work as soon as possible, and stated that after the official approval of the structures, the selection and placement of staff will be considered.
Then other issues on the agenda were discussed. In 2021, DBMS scientific organizations were instructed to submit dissertation topics for doctoral and dissertation admissions.
Then it was decided to make partial changes in the composition of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS.
The next issue on the agenda of the meeting was the election of new chairmen of the Councils of Young Scientists and Specialists in the scientific organizations of DBMS. Academician Irada Huseynova expressed satisfaction with the selection of worthy candidates for these positions.
Afterwards, it was discussed to hold academician Musa Musayev’s 100th anniversary, corresponding member of ANAS Rafig Gasimov’s 90th anniversary, Magsud Gurbanov’s 80th anniversary, Amin Ismayilov’s 70th anniversary, 70th anniversaries of employees of the Institute of Zoology - Doctors of Biological Sciences Mahir Huseynov, Shaig Ibrahimov and Shafiga Topchiyeva, as well as the 85th anniversary of the Institute of Zoology and relevant decisions were made.
