The 5th meeting of the Problem Council on Biological, Agrarian and Medical Sciences of the Council for the Coordination of Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held online in conjunction with the Medical Section of the Council. Opening the meeting, Vice-President of ANAS, Chairman of the Problem Council, Academician Irada Huseynova acquainted the participants with the issues on the agenda.
Then the scientific secretary of the Problem Council, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Dilzara Agayeva said that 37 works were submitted for discussion for the approval of theses (16 works in medicine, 6 works in biology, 15 works in agricultural sciences). The scientific secretary of the Medical section, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Rasim Jafarli presented a thesis on medicine, the Scientific Secretary of the Problem Council Dilzara Agayeva - on biology, and the Deputy Chairman of the Problem Council, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Mustafa Mustafayev - on agricultural sciences.

Members of the Medical section - a leading researcher of the National Ophthalmological Center of the Ministry of Health, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Nizami Bagirov, Head of the Department of the Azerbaijan Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tair Suleymanov, Head of the Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Valeh Mirzazade, teacher of Azerbaijan Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences Shaiman Gadimova, Assistant of Azerbaijan Medical University, Ph.D. in Medicine Yasmin Rustamova, Assistant of Azerbaijan Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences Emma Agayeva and others expressed their views on the discussed medical topics.
To clarify the issues raised during the discussion, applicants joined the meeting through the Zoom program.
13 papers on medicine, 6 papers on biology, 13 papers on agricultural sciences were positively assessed (with a change in the names of some topics) and accepted, the rest of the topics were rejected for reconsideration.
