The Scientific Council of the Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized a jubilee event dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the General Director of the Institute, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Panah Zulfugar oglu Muradov.
Opening the event, Head of the Laboratory of Microbiological Biotechnology, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Konul Bakhshalieva, spoke about the meaningful life path of the jubilarian and about Panah Muradov’s contribution to the development of science and education in the Republic through his many years of fruitful scientific activity. She noted that Professor Panah Muradov is one of our intellectuals who worthily represents Azerbaijani microbiological science at prestigious scientific institutions around the world. She also added that the scientist is a full member of the International Academy of Sciences of the Turkic World and a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
At the event, General Director of the Institute of Zoology, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Aladdin Eyvazov; Chairman of the Management Board of the Central Botanical Garden, PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Ali Jafarov; General Director of the Institute of Physiology named after Academician Abdulla Garayev, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Ulduz Gashimova; and Head of the Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Mehriban Maharramova congratulated Panah Muradov on his 65th anniversary. Wishing him new creative achievements and good health in his service to national science, they emphasized that the life path of the scientist, who is now living the glorious years of his life, serves as an example for young microbiologists.
On behalf of the leadership of the Institute of Biophysics, the scientific secretary of the institute, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Florida Mehraliyeva, and other employees of the institute spoke about such human qualities of P. Muradov as simplicity, modesty, and care, and expressed their best wishes to the jubilarian.
Speaking about P. Muradov’s scientific and pedagogical activities, the participants highly praised his productive and consistent work as the scientific supervisor of several doctoral and dissertation candidates, particularly emphasizing his great contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists under his guidance.
Panakh Muradov’s fruitful activity in the scientific and pedagogical field has always been highly appreciated. The scientist has been awarded the Honorary Diploma of ANAS four times and, by order of the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was awarded the jubilee medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan “100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (1921–2021)” for his special merits in the development of science and education in the country.
In his closing speech, jubilarian Panah Muradov expressed his gratitude for the great attention and care, and thanked the organizers and participants of the event.
