Institute of Microbiology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan held an event titled "September 27 - Remembrance Day of the Martyrs of the 44-day Patriotic War".

In advance, a minute of silence was commemorated in memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

Opening the event, Director General of the Institute of Microbiology, Corresponding Member of ANAS Panah Muradov noted that the "Remembrance Day" established by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, is an expression of deep respect for the memory of our soldiers and officers who heroically fought in the Patriotic War and perished for the territorial integrity of our country.

Speaking about the significance of the glorious victory achieved at the end of the 44-day war, the scientist emphasized that the Azerbaijani state achieved this victory at the cost of the blood and lives of martyrs. Noting that the political and diplomatic successes achieved as a result of the successful policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation for this victory, Panah Muradov said that our people showed determination and will, unity and solidarity like a fist, put an end to the 30-year occupation policy of Armenia, which was powerless against the counterattacks of the Azerbaijani army. He stated that the territorial integrity of our country, historical justice and international law have been restored, and this victory has been inscribed in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan.

Then, the head of the Laboratory of Biologically Active Substances of the Institute, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Elman Iskander spoke at the event, noting that the Azerbaijani people demonstrated unity in the true sense of the word and achieved a great victory. The courage shown by our soldiers, including the youth, in this victory is an example of true patriotism.

In conclusion, the institute’s staff visited the 2nd Alley of Martyrs and honored the bright memory of our heroes who died for the freedom of our land, and laid flowers at their graves.
