At the Institute of Dendrology, the knowledge contest titled “Race of Knowledge” was held to mark the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” in Azerbaijan and the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. It was organized collaboratively by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan; the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan; the Institute of Dendrology under the Ministry of Science and Education; the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Education; the Institute of Microbiology under the Ministry of Science and Education; and the “Odlar Yurdu” University.

The competition aimed to draw attention to environmental protection and climate change mitigation at national, regional, and global levels, and to encourage greater youth engagement in these efforts.

This series of engaging and methodical projects seeks to acquaint the younger generation with Azerbaijan, to honor our heroes who sacrificed their lives to preserve our solidarity and unity during the Great Patriotic War, and those who achieved the heights of martyrdom for our Homeland. Students from all general education, vocational-technical, secondary, and higher educational institutions across the country took part in various categories. Participants showcased their skills in STEAM, poetry, photography, and handicrafts. Before the competition began, they visited an exhibition of paintings and handmade works.

The event at the Institute of Dendrology commenced with the performance of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Panah Muradov, General Director of the Institute of Microbiology under the Ministry of Science and Education and Corresponding Member of ANAS, reported that the main objective of this competition—held within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”—is to nurture the younger generation with a broad worldview and national mindset, to strengthen their patriotism, and to promote the ideology of Azerbaijani identity rooted in state youth policy initiated by the Great Leader. He noted that the Constitution of the modern Azerbaijani state is one of the masterpieces of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Indeed, following independence, Azerbaijan had to adopt its own Constitution. He emphasized that once the Great Leader came to power by the will of the people and was elected President with strong trust, one of his first priorities was preparing and adopting the new Constitution. He expressed confidence that the artworks displayed at the exhibition would in future take their place in the treasury of Azerbaijani culture. According to him, holding such competitions is especially significant for raising the intellectual level of youth.
